Institute for Scalable Quantum Communications and Networking

Bridging the gap between telecommunications, computer science, and quantum information

Mission & Vision

Driving diverse technology into a quantum-communications enabled future

The Institute for Scalable Quantum Communications and Networking (ISQ-Net) is a national research effort to realize and enable quantum computing in applications world-wide. Together with partners in national laboratories, industry, and education, we bring together researchers from twelve academic institutions to overcome state-of-the-art barriers that lay across the fields of computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, and applied physics. Together, we are advancing parallel computer systems, algorithms, and architecture; optics and photonics, communications, networking, control and optimization; and quantum optics and atomic/semiconductor devices.

About the Institute

Research

Establishing a quantum internet, as the holy grail of quantum communication, requires developing quantum networking protocols as well as configuring practical quantum devices. Learn about quantum computing and how our research is moving the field forward.
